Arsenal has finalized a comprehensive agreement with Sporting CP for the purchase of striker Viktor Gyökeres.
This agreement puts an end to long discussions regarding the transfer, and Gyökeres is scheduled to undergo a medical examination this Saturday.
According to reports, Arsenal have agreed to spend just over 73 million euros to sign the Swedish international, who has scored 68 goals in 66 games in Portugal.
The agreement could have moved quickly as soon as a final deal was reached with Sporting, as Gyökeres had already accepted personal terms and a five-year contract with Arsenal.
Sporting could complete his transfer in time for the player to join Arsenal's pre-season tour of Asia.
Arsenal was in search of a new striker to compete with Kai Havertz and has set its sights on Gyökeres as its priority, comparing him to Benjamin Sesko.
The London side will lock horns with Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur in Asia, before facing two more teams in friendlies in the UK, to prepare for their Premier League opener against Manchester United on August 17.
